Hi all, Here is this weeks gemstone.
Lapis Lazuli was one of the most revered and treasured stones in the ancient world. The Egyptians made great use of it. It was even ground up to make paint and make-up. It was used in inlay work and carved into beautiful figures by the ancient Chinese. The best grade of Lapis is found in Aftghanistan. Unfortunately, due to the war over there, high quality Lapis has become scarce and expensive. Everyone should have a piece of Lapis. It mirrors the deep blue sky and is often flecked with pyrite, making it sparkle. It was a stone sacred to the ancient Egyptian goddess, Nuith, the goddess of the starry heavens. Keep your eyes out for this stone. Many Chinese carvings can be found made out of this stone, so head to your nearest Chinatown or contact Reverend Tina at www.cgreen.us Love, Light, & Laughter, Christopher Ree
