So, I had no idea what I was going to write about. I closed my eyes and Finding Our Way came to mind. I have NO idea what that means, so you will be on this adventure with me! Hoo RAH! *grin* *a big toothy one, at that*
First, I want to apologize for the misspellings in yesterday's blog. I get my fingers twisted around my eye teeth and I can't see what I'm 'saying'. I see now I had 'ouf' for 'of' and Pharoah for Pharaoh. Close, but no cigar. I tend to write 'form' for 'from' a lot, too. One hand is just quicker than the other, I guess. *wince* So be on the lookout!
So, back to Finding Our Way. (I do tend to take a lot of little bunny trails which does tend to get me lost sometimes, so beware!) *smile*
I really and truly wonder what Finding Our Way is about. Are we lost? Do we need sign posts? What the heck does 'finding our way' have to do with anything any of you would care about?
Ah! Maybe we ARE lost and need sign posts. Or at least a sign or two wouldn't hurt, right? So what would a sign look like, if we were looking for one?
I don't mean, "Give me a sign" kind of sign. I just mean something we discover along the way that seems to help point the way. Would that be 'synchronicity'?
I'm thinking so. Synchronicity.
Have you ever just been walking along, minding your own business and something completely out of the blue hits you right smack between the eyes? I don't mean literally (that wouldn't be any fun), but something you just know isn't a coincidence. In fact, did you know that in the Hebrew language there is no word for 'coincidence'? Nope. It's what I used to call a "God thing". *smile* God's perfect timing. The best part being sometimes it means you are being useful for someone else's path. It isn't really about you then, not in the immediate sense anyway. It may mean you are supposed to see who you are ultimately, but at that precise moment you are the answer to someone else's prayer. And maybe that's a sign, too, for you. To be available. That kind of being used is kind of fun, don't you think? *grin*
Of course, I started this with the idea of finding out (own) way. So if I were to look at all those instances when a word or story or incident stood out to me, would they be signs along my path and show me where I am headed?
I think so. I think these are definite markers and I need to pay heed to them. I need to recognize the 'voice' of the one calling me onward and upward toward that great high calling. The final destination, as it were, though of course, nothing is Final in the sense we continue to 'be' whoever we are, learning and growing, whether in this life or the one beyond. But these markers show me where I've been and can direct me to where I might be headed, where my life is supposed to go.
It used to be scripture that did that for me. I would hear the same one over and over. People used to walk up to me in the street and say, "I think I'm supposed to tell you..." and out of their mouth would come the one scripture I couldn't get away from! It almost got ridiculous in this one sense. *grin* I remember just looking at the last few people and saying, "Let me guess. It's Proverbs 3:4-5, right?" They were sometimes more stunned than I! *tee hee*
You know what's funny? That verse says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path." Hysterical, huh? *grin*
So what themes seem to keep playing in your life? What things occur over and over to the point you couldn't ignore them if you tried? These are the sign posts of your life. Mark them. See where they lead. There is some connection if you will only look. Hopefully each sign is a step closer to your goal and purpose. That is how you know you are on the right path and how you know where the heck you are going!
Keep your eyes and heart open. Look for Truth to be revealed and it will be. It is there all the time. You just need to be awake and aware. I'll meet you at the top when we all finish the race (I mentioned yesterday) that is leading us up the mountain to higher ground and sweeter fellowship and communion.
Eyes on the prize!
